Call out for Short Films:
Refractive are planning a spring programme of film screenings in 2024 in Renfrewshire Venues to promote independent filmmakers. Our programmers are curating a diverse programme of Feature Dramas and Documentaries from UK independent filmmakers. The films in this first season will include contemporary documentary around exceptional creative practice (artists and photographers) and inspiring independent Scottish dramas. Our first screenings take place in December with Gary Hewitt’s The Defender screening in Paisley Town Hall and Erskine Sports Centre.
Alongside the Features we are looking to screen short films from filmmakers in the region. Short films can be of any genre, music video, art film, drama, documentary, animation, film essay we are looking to screen diverse work to showcase the range of film being made in Renfrewshire and the surrounding area from independent makers. The short films should be under 10min in length (approx) and be examples of current work – made in the last 3 years.
