Our form is designed to capture your interests and areas where you would like to increase your skills. Once you have submitted this you will become an Associate Member (or Student Member) we will get back to you and ask if you want to showcase your work or business on the Refractive Directory.

Associate Membership offers you benefits like access to production spaces, meeting / work rooms, use of equipment and services at the Witherspoon Hub. Plus reduced prices at Refractive screenings etc Members will also receive the Refractive Makers Newsletter with opportunities & commissions available across the UK.

Associate Members will also have a say in the management of Refractive through consultation and at AGM’s and may become members of the Core Collective.

Note:

Student Membership of Refractive is open to final year undergraduate/college students, post-graduate students and recent graduates in the creative industries.
Student membership will be for 12 months - at the end of the 12 months your membership will be reassessed regarding your eligibility for student membership or regular associate professional membership will then be reviewed.
Student membership will give concessionary rates at some events and training.
Student membership may put certain restrictions on taking part in some training events and unsupported use of equipment/facilities - individual cases linked to experience and skills will be considered.

I am interested in presenting a digital art, photography or experimental/mixed media exhibition in the space or another Refractive supported location

I would like to showcase my films (features and shorts) at local or Scottish / international screenings

I would like to add my films and digital art works to the Renfrewshire Film Archive collection - to be part of an archive developed and supported by Refractive

I would like to deliver advanced skills creative workshops or masterclasses for other makers in the region (these would be contracted and paid workshop programmes)

What activities would you attend / take part in at the Refractive Hub and other associated spaces? Tick all that apply:

I would like to take part in Advanced Skills Workshop programmes. These are supported workshop programmes for the sector delivered at minimal cost to Refractive makers.

I would like support with film distribution and festival submissions locally, nationally and internationally.

I would like to use the production and workshop spaces at Witherspoon Building and in the Hugh Smiley building, which include internet access and are free to film and digital artists in the region (there is a nominal £20 fee per month for the desk which goes towards services).

I would like to present and visit new work that is showcased locally, nationally and internationally.

I would like to attend film makers and digital artist masterclasses associated with the film exhibition programmes and artist exhibitions.

I would like to access Refractive supported commissions for film or digital art exhibitions

I would like to attend training opportunities from other creative support organisations - PACT, Bectu, Equity, Skills Scotland, etc

I would like to participate in international digital artist and film maker exchange programmes developed by Refractive with international partners.

I would like access to career support - access to information on Industry training, support to attend conferences and associated events on behalf of Refractive.

I would like to attend network meetings - to support the development of the group.

I would like to attend independent film screenings at the Paisley Film & Media Space and in the Renfrewshire region.

I would like to use the developing equipment resource - this will include projectors, lighting and sound kit and an array of collected production kit.

Your input and involvement with Refractive is mutually significant - we can support and help you with your work and projects and you will support our activities and help create a meaningful local network of creative practitioners.
