A bright and colourful look at the life of the iconic Twiggy, the 15-year-old from Neasden who exploded onto the London fashion scene in the 1960s. Her career has spanned decades inspiring creative style, music, fashion and talent across generations.

Animated fabric brings the story of a lingerie factory in Manchester to life. Silk, cotton and lace go under the camera, as the workers recount the history of Ella and Me, the UK garment manufacturing industry, and British family traditions of making. A specially composed soundtrack by Swedish composer Malin Bång, inspired by sounds of sewing machinery, evokes the ups and downs of the factory.

Accompanying Event: Design Your Own Peter Pan Collar! With Johnstone Textile Space

Step into the charm of the 1960s with our hands-on Peter Pan Collar Workshop led by fashion expert Dr Casci Richie. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to embroider and embellish your own unique Peter Pan collar, perfect for adding a touch of vintage flair to any outfit. All materials are included and participants of all abilities are welcome, and there are a limited number of combined workshop and film screening tickets available too!
