On Weaving | Luke Fowler and Corin Sworn | 2025 | UK | English | Refractive Advisory Rating: PG Equivalent
Alchemy Film and Moving Image artists in residence Luke Fowler and Corin Sworn weave together a 16mm tapestry of film and photography in response to the legacies of innovative textile artists Bernat and Margaret Klein and their modernist Scottish Borders home.
Plus Short Films:
The Last of the Hand Weavers | Simon Barr | 2025 | English (with English Subtitles)
Eddie Doherty is a modest and humble man who, at the age of 84, still carries on the tradition of hand weaving the Donegal Tweed fabrics at his small shop in Ardara, Co. Donegal, Ireland.
Visible Mending | Sam Moore | 2023 | English (with Descriptive Subtitles)
A group of stop motion knitted objects, all chosen by the interviewees, tell stories about how they have used knitting to bring solace and mend themselves – even if the repair is temporary. BAFTA nominated Visible Mending reclaims the role knitting plays for many people; helping them face adversity, calm anxiety, and make sense of events in their lives.
