Join Refractive for a screening of the stunning documentary North Sea, Nature Untamed by director Mark Verkerk, plus a post screening talk from social and environmental justice campaigner, Alastair McIntosh hosted by Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub. The event will take place on Saturday 17th of January 2026 at The Wynd Centre Paisley, 7pm (doors from 6.30pm).

Experience a journey beneath the waves of the North Sea through the eyes of experienced diver and underwater camerman Peter van Rodijen. From the wild blue waters around the Scottish islands to the shallow delta of the Low Countries and up along the dramatic coastline of the Norwegian fjords. North Sea, Nature Untamed is a cinematic adventure and a voyage of discovery that will show the North Sea in all its glory.

In The Flame We Reveal Ourselves is a short documentary essay film about climate anxiety, rendered solely through music and image. The interplay of music (by musical collaborators, Afterlands), and visual storytelling explores our desire to protect the environment while paradoxically allowing its destruction.
