The Residency:
For Refractive the Artist in Residence role will enable Kenny to take time to explore documentary and ethnographic film making through developing a new participation programme with local film makers of all ages and at all career stages. Based in Paisley at the Refractive production and exhibition space the project aims to encourage local film makers from different cultural backgrounds to find their own voice and make some new documentary film with Kenny’s support.
Over the next 11 months the project will provide a space to explore, experiment, and create a short documentary in any style or form the artists wish to explore. Participants will learn how to light, shoot and edit to a professional standard, while exploring how to structure their film and engage the audience, using their own voice and experience as a starting point.
The introductory workshops will be help on the Thursday 22nd January at 7pm and repeated on Sat 24th January at 10.30am.
